We recently announced that we had chosen Manchester-based singer Feliicia Eliza as our favourite act in the Local Music Live Initiative.
However, it wasn’t an easy decision, as the quality of the artists was so high that choosing one favourite took lots of deliberation.
That’s why we have decided to highlight some of the other talented singers and bands that caught our eye as part of Local Music Live.
Alex Hulme is a Liverpool-based singer, guitarist and loop-maker whose energetic performance and ability to weave intricate loops made him stand out from the crowd.
Sophie Smith started out singing covers and performing at open mic nights in her native Mansfield, but having heard her original material we think she’s destined for big things!
For the Girl is a five-piece indie pop rock band from Nottingham made up of lead singer Sam Plenty, guitarists Josh King and Isaac Hallas, bassist James Wells, and drummer Foxy. With their blend of different styles For the Girl has a sound that is totally unique and we’re sure you’ll see them popping up on festival bills around the UK very soon.
We’re sure we’re not the only ones who spotted Niamh, a talented singer/songwriter from Skipton. Her beautiful piano-backed ballads are the perfect fit for her wonderful vocal style, and we’re excited to see what’s next for this gifted teenager.
Finally, Frankie may be the youngest artists to submit her music to Local Music Live, but it was her clever lyrics and catchy melodies that made her stand out. Frankie is a 14-year old singer and multi-instrumentalist from Yorkshire, and we’ll definitely be keeping an eye and ear out for her in the future.
