Our Manchester charity breakfast morning in support of Cancer Research UK presented a particular challenge for branch manager Simon Hunt, who is taking part in a sponsored weight loss.
Simon had to contend with staff and customers tucking into bacon butties while he stuck to the diet in his effort to lose two stone in 12 weeks to raise money for the charity. Customers, colleagues, friends and family are sponsoring Simon to shed the pounds, with over £500 raised for Cancer Research UK to date.
So far, Simon has managed to lose 13 pounds just three weeks after he started his regime of healthy eating and exercise, putting him well on course to achieve his target. He credits swapping fry-ups for lean meat and vegetables and a three times a week exercise regime plus a good dose of willpower for his success so far.
Simon said: “I’m delighted with the support I’ve had from my family and everyone at Howarth Timber. I lost my dad to cancer two years ago, so this cause is very close to my heart and I am determined to meet my target and raise as much money as possible.”
